Training Video Creator
from the document you already have
Create training videos from the documents you already have: an SOP, an onboarding guide or a policy. Here is exactly how, for each one.
Upload the SOP, onboarding guide or policy
Click or drag it here. Nothing is uploaded until you generate.
- •Text-based PDF, Word, Markdown or TXT, up to 50 MB.
- •Headings help: each section becomes a scene.
- •Scanned pages work, but clean text gives better narration.
Trusted by teams, schools, and organizations around the world
To create a training video with DistilBook, upload the SOP, onboarding guide or policy, choose who the training is for, read and edit the narration script it writes, then approve it; each section becomes a narrated, illustrated slide. A 10 slide training video finishes in about 15 to 25 minutes after approval, and nothing is drawn or voiced until you sign off the script. It suits creators, studios and agencies making training from documents, not teams that need SCORM tracking today.
You start free: signing up gives you 10 credits with no credit card, a slide costs 10 credits, so the first slide of your video generates free and you can watch it in full; the rest unlocks on a paid plan. DistilBook accepts PDF, Word, images, plain text, a web article link, or a written prompt, and you approve the AI narration script before anything renders. Paid plans start at $20 per month for 227 credits, roughly 22 slides, which removes the watermark and unlocks MP4 export at up to 1440p. Narration is available in 20 languages, and the training video creator output can carry your own logo and brand colors. Whiteboard and motion videos can be made in 16:9 landscape or in 9:16 vertical for Shorts, Reels and TikTok. Since April 2026, more than 1,400 people have made over 2,800 videos with DistilBook, most of them from PDFs.

Is it the right tool for you?
Best for
- E-learning agencies and small studios producing training for clients from the clients' own documents, under each client's logo
- Course creators and trainers who sell training and need a steady supply of lessons
- Small businesses with written SOPs and no video person
- Training in several languages from one source document
Not for
- Teams that need SCORM or xAPI packages, quizzes or completion tracking inside the tool: the output is an MP4 or a share link, so tracking has to live in your LMS
- Software walkthroughs that must show your real screen: use a screen recorder such as Camtasia or ScreenPal
- Presenter-led or avatar video
- Hands-on physical tasks where trainees must see the real equipment being used

How does it work?

Pick one document and one outcome
Start with a single procedure, guide or policy and write down the one thing a trainee should be able to do after watching. For a long handbook, choose the page range you need: Basic plans take up to 10 PDF pages per video, Pro 30 and Max unlimited.

Set the trainee, language and length
Describe the trainee in the audience field, for example new warehouse staff on their first day. Choose one of 20 narration languages and a length; the number of slides follows the length.

Review the script like a document owner
The AI writes narration section by section and stops. This is the step that makes it training rather than a summary: check every number, threshold, name and must or should, and add visual instructions where a scene should show a specific thing.

Generate, brand and deliver
Approve, and each section is illustrated and narrated. Add the logo and brand colours on any paid plan, then download an MP4 up to 1440p for your LMS, intranet or course platform, or share a link.
How do you create a training video from each type of document?
The four steps above are the same for every document. What changes is how you prepare the source and what you check in the script. These are the playbooks for the three documents training is most often made from.
From an SOP
Procedures are sequences, so the video must keep the order and the exact conditions.
- Upload only the procedure section, with numbered steps intact; each heading or step group becomes a slide.
- Set the audience to the person who performs the task, not the manager who wrote it.
- In the script, check that steps are in the original order and that every quantity, setting and sign-off is unchanged.
- Pick a clean style such as isometric or flat vector, so equipment and steps read clearly.
- Keep one procedure per video; link related SOPs as separate videos.
From an onboarding guide
Onboarding guides mix welcome, policy and practical how-to. Split them before you start.
- Split the guide into short videos: your first day, who to ask, tools and access, key rules.
- Set the audience to a new starter with no context, and a friendly tone in the script.
- Replace internal shorthand and acronyms in the script with plain words or a first-use explanation.
- Add the company logo and colours so every video in the set looks the same.
- Make each one in the languages your new starters speak, from the same document.
From a compliance policy
In compliance material a paraphrase can change the meaning, so the review step carries the weight.
- Upload the current approved version of the policy and note its version or date.
- Ask the policy owner, not the video maker, to read the script before you approve it.
- Check every must, must not, may and deadline word for word, and every reporting route and contact.
- Use a calm, plain style such as hand-drawn whiteboard, and keep each video to one obligation area.
- Host the MP4 in your LMS if you need attestation or completion records; DistilBook does not track viewers.
What do you get in every video?
| Video styles | 19 styles: hand-drawn whiteboard plus motion graphics |
|---|---|
| Narration | AI voices in 20 languages, reviewed and editable before generation |
| First result | First narrated slide plays in about 6 minutes |
| Branding | Your logo, colors, and company text on every slide |
| Editing | Edit narration, slide images, titles, and reveals before rendering |
| Export | MP4 at 720p, 1080p, or 1440p, plus a shareable web link |
| Inputs | PDF, Word, images, plain text, web articles, or a written prompt |
What does it cost?
The first slide generates free with 10 signup credits. Paid plans are priced per slide, so a video costs a predictable amount.
| Plan | Price | Credits | What that makes | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 10 credits on signup | First slide generated, watermarked preview | No credit card |
| Basic | $20 / month | 227 credits / month | About 22 slides, 45 minutes of video | MP4 download, no watermark |
| Pro | $50 / month | 643 credits / month | About 64 slides | 1080p export, longer videos |
| Max | $100 / month | 1,334 credits / month | About 133 slides | 1440p export, priority queue |
One slide costs 10 credits. Yearly plans are 30% cheaper. Full details on the pricing page.

Frequently asked questions
How do I create a training video from a document?
Upload the document as a PDF, Word file, Markdown or plain text, describe the trainee, and set the length. DistilBook writes the narration and pauses so you can edit every line. Approve it and each section becomes a narrated, illustrated slide; download the MP4 or share a link.
What is the best training video creator for a small team or agency?
If your training already exists as documents and you need illustrated, narrated videos under your own or a client's brand, a document-first creator like DistilBook fits: from $20 a month, with the logo on every paid plan. If you need avatars, SCORM packages or built-in quizzes, an enterprise training platform fits better.
How long should a training video be?
Long enough for one task or one rule and no longer. Split a long document into several videos rather than making one long one, put the most important instruction near the start, and keep the source document available for the details.
Can I create training videos in other languages?
Yes. Narration is available in 20 languages, and the script is written in the language you pick, so one SOP can become the same training in Spanish, German or Hindi. Have a speaker of that language read the script before approving.
Does it export SCORM or track completions?
Not today. You get an MP4 at up to 1440p and a share link. Upload the MP4 to your LMS or course platform if you need assignment, completion or quiz tracking.
How much does it cost to create a training video?
A slide costs 10 credits. Signup gives 10 free credits with no card, enough for the first slide. The $20 plan includes 227 credits a month, about 22 slides, so a 6 slide training video uses about a quarter of it. Paid plans can be refunded in full within the first 3 days.
What happens when the procedure changes?
Upload the revised document and generate the video again, reviewing the new script. Regenerating costs credits again, 10 per slide, but there is nothing to re-film or re-record.
