3.5 Third-Party AI Assistants and Integrations
You can connect DistilBook to third-party AI assistants and developer tools, for example
ChatGPT by OpenAI, through our hosted MCP server or an API key you generate in your account settings. This
happens only when you choose to connect one.
While a connection is active, that tool can read:
- your account status, including credit balance, plan, and renewal date
- your list of videos, with their titles and generation status
- the narration scripts generated from the documents you upload
- temporary download links for your finished videos
- the slide images belonging to your videos
It can also act on your behalf: creating, editing, rendering, publishing, and deleting
videos in your account.
We do not send your information to any assistant or tool you have not connected. You can
revoke access at any time by removing the connection or deleting the API key in your
account settings. Once your information reaches a third-party assistant, that provider's
own privacy policy also applies to how they handle it, so review the privacy policy of any
tool you connect.

- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Access controls and authentication mechanisms

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

When you delete your account, we delete your personal information, uploaded documents and videos within 30 days. You can also request deletion by emailing support@distilbook.com, and we will complete it within 30 days of your request. We keep information longer only where the law requires it.
