How do Scholarly credits work?

A lecture costs 1 credit on the default model and 2 to 4 credits on frontier models. Credits are shared with Scholarly's other study tools and reset every Monday at 00:00 UTC without rolling over. Paid plans can buy credit packs that never expire, from 10 credits for $10.

What can you export from Scholarly?

MP4 video, a zip of slides, script and captions, and PowerPoint or Google Slides files. Narration is available in 70+ languages with 50+ voices.

Who is Scholarly best for?

Students and tutors studying their own material, with lectures, flashcards and quizzes in one workspace. Scholarly describes itself as not built for marketing or corporate videos.

Is there an alternative to Scholarly for producing course videos?

If you are making lessons for other people rather than studying, you need control over the script and your brand. DistilBook turns a PDF, Word file or notes into a narrated explainer with an original illustration for each idea, in 19 whiteboard and motion-graphics styles and 20 languages. You approve the script before anything is drawn. Signup gives 10 free credits with no card, enough for the first slide, and paid plans start at $20 a month, or $14 a month billed yearly, with your logo on every paid plan.

Scholarly remains the better choice for learners who want study tools, quizzes and flashcards around their own sources.
